Asta Board Diversity Statement

Asta recognises that diversity in our business is integral to the achievement of our strategic goals and to the protection of policyholders. We therefore have a Diversity and Inclusion Policy in place to reinforce this commitment which applies to our board as much as it does to any other area of our business. Asta has also signed up to the Lloyd’s Diversity and Inclusion Charter which is about creating a diverse workforce and an inclusive business culture within the Lloyd’s market.

We understand that a diverse board will include and make good use of differences in the skills, industry experience, background, race, gender and other qualities of individual directors. Wherever possible, these differences will be balanced appropriately and will be considered in determining the optimum composition of the board. The Chairman of the Board is responsible for the evaluation of the overall performance and effectiveness of the board and this includes a review of the balance of skills, experience, independence and knowledge of the board to help ensure a diverse composition.

Asta supports board diversity without compromising on the calibre of directors. All board appointments will be made on merit and by assessing candidates against measurable objective criteria, as well as complementing and expanding the skills knowledge and experience of the board as a whole. The Remuneration and Nomination Committee of Asta Managing Agency Limited reviews and assesses board composition on behalf of the board and recommends the appointment of any new directors.

This policy has the full support of the Chairman and the Board of Directors.
