Asta, the Lloyd’s leading third party managing agency, hosted a golf tournament, the “Asta Invitational” at Loch Lomond Golf Club earlier this week. The guests comprised teams assembled by some of Asta’s customers where the event raised £8,000 which was donated to two charities, the Robin House Children’s Hospice, Balloch, and Trinity Hospice, Clapham.
Robin House in Balloch near Loch Lomond opened in 2001 and is the second hospice run by the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS). It offers a “home-from-home” with accommodation for eight families from across Scotland.
Trinity Hospice is the United Kingdom’s oldest hospice, founded in 1891 by a member of the Hoare banking family. It is located in Clapham Common, London and provides specialist palliative care. Trinity Hospice provides its specialist end of life care services free of charge for those who need them in its community of over 750,000 people from central and south-west London.
Julian Tighe, CEO of Asta commented: “We are pleased to be able to support Robin House in Balloch and Trinity Hospice in Clapham Common. They serve an important role for families both in Scotland and London. At the same time we hope that those who joined us for the Asta Invitational enjoyed their time and I am very grateful for their help in raising so much money for our chosen charities.”
