Vacancy: MI Analyst - 6 months fixed term contract

Job Profile

Main purpose of job
To evolve Asta’s MI capability by maintaining existing and developing new MI using Tableau and other MI tools, along with analysing and interpreting the resulting output.

Key tasks

  1. A detailed understanding of Asta’s MI Strategy and Roadmap, ensuring day to day work is in alignment, that the Strategy and Roadmap are promoted across the business and they are up to speed with latest industry and market developments which could impact Asta’s approach to delivering MI.
  2. Participate in the MI User Forum, interacting and collaborating with MI Super Users to support, train and encourage use of reporting tools and ensuring best practice MI is shared across teams.
  3. Create, maintain and deliver reports, cubes, scorecards and dashboards in an accurate and timely manner, working with the business to analyse the resulting output to assist them in making good business decisions.
  4. Build close working relationships with all MI Super Users and their teams, along with IT to ensure the MI solution developed is architecturally robust.
  5. Develop and enhance MI data quality metrics and reports to ensure an appropriate level of data quality issue identification and monitoring remains in place.
  6. Provide system administration support in respect of Tableau, liaising with Asta’s Account Manager as appropriate.
  7. Provide operational support during the on-boarding and integration of new Asta syndicates, specifically with regard to the development and maintenance of the Client MI Portal.

Key technical skills, knowledge and professional qualifications required

  1. Good understanding of Lloyd’s/London Market central services, bureau processes and regulatory environment, including an awareness of the broader insurance and reinsurance industry, ideally with CII certification or progression towards.
  2. Sound understanding of data management principles including data quality management.
  3. Exposure to management information reporting and data visualisation tools, such as Tableau.
  4. Understanding of operations management principles and aims, including optimisation of process efficiency and efficacy.
  5. Working knowledge of Project Management methodologies, principals and tools.
  6. Awareness of Risk Management and Internal Control principles, including an appreciation of how to implement controls to mitigate risk.
