Vacancy: Purchase ledger and cashbook assistant

Job Profile

Main purpose of job
To process and maintain the purchase ledger and cashbook.

Key tasks

  1. Control the receipt, distribution and authorisation for payment of purchase ledger invoices ensuring controls and procedures are applied.
  2. Coding and inputting of invoices onto the purchase ledger.
  3. Dealing with internal and external queries.
  4. Preparation of payment runs including AMA and MGA client expenses.
  5. Assisting in the preparation and inputting of sales invoices to clients/customers.
  6. Daily treasury functions for UK companies including communication with the bank.
  7. Assistance with month end journals and control accounts.
  8. Filing, scanning and any other ad hoc tasks the business may need.

Key technical skills, knowledge and professional qualifications required

  1. Good standard of education to A level including Maths at GCSE (B Grade).
  2. Numeracy and accuracy.
  3. Experience of accounting software packages such as SUN and Microsoft.
  4. Limited previous experience of purchase ledger.
  5. Basic IT skills.
