Job Profile

Main purpose of job
Primary purpose of the role is to support the business in recruiting new talent within budget, following the Company’s inclusive hiring practices. Responsible for the end-to-end recruitment process for a wide range of roles up to management level across all business areas.

Also, to provide HR generalist support to the team when required which may include preparing and analysing MI and other HR operational tasks.

Key tasks

  1. Liaising with hiring managers to understand recruitment needs, ensuring that it is within budget and that an appropriate Job Profile is prepared.
  2. Creation of job adverts, liaising with Asta and Davies marketing, job boards and recruitment agencies to post adverts.
  3. Manage the CV tracking and screening process, removing bias where possible, and if applicable, co-ordinating online ability tests.  Produce regular and ad hoc recruitment MI.
  4. Manage the interview process and conduct 1st interviews jointly with managers, coaching them in the use of Asta’s inclusive hiring practices.
  5. Involved in the selection process and ensuring interview feedback is provided to candidates.
  6. Effectively manage the offer and onboarding process.
  7. Produce regular and ad hoc MI.
  8. Provide the team with HR generalist support as required.

Key personal skills required

  1. Discretion and appreciation of the confidential nature of the role.
  2. Very high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  4. Pro-active, with the confidence to advise and provide challenge to managers in the selection of the best candidate for the role.
  5. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple recruitment campaigns with tight deadlines.
  6. Ability to develop good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Flexible team player who is prepared to get involved with the work of other team members when necessary.

Key technical skills, knowledge and professional qualifications required

  1. Previous experience in managing the recruitment cycle up to management level from the creation of a brief through to offering the successful candidate(s) gained either through an in-house environment or a recruitment agency.
  2. Experience of using inclusive hiring methods to reduce bias at any stage of the recruitment cycle.
  3. Experience using direct sourcing tools (such as LinkedIn and industry relevant job boards).
  4. An understanding of the Lloyd’s/London market insurance operation an advantage but not essential.
  5. Experience of working as an HR generalist at a similar level.
  6. Good PC skills, including intermediate Microsoft Excel.
