Asta, the leading third-party managing agent at Lloyd’s, is pleased to announce the appointment of managing director, Lorraine Harfitt to the board of the Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA).

Harfitt has more than 30 years of Lloyd’s market experience in several client management, regulatory and operational roles.

Harfitt said: “I am delighted to join the LMA board and am looking forward to working with my fellow board members to help foster a more inclusive industry. It is encouraging to see the LMA lead by example with its new target and commitment to achieve greater board diversity by the end of 2023.”

After four years of service, Julian Tighe, chief executive officer of Asta, has stepped down from the LMA board this year. He added: “I have enjoyed my time on the board and am confident that the new set of board members will carry on the good work. Congratulations to Lorraine and all the new members, I wish them success.”
