#BIBA2016 is starting in Manchester tonight. Asta Executives, Simon Norton, Keith Nevett and John Holm are attending and looking forward to engaging with some of the 6,000 plus delegates that will be at the event.
There can be little doubt that with the international economic and geopolitical situation so uncertain many of these topics will be on the agenda at #BIBA2016. The insurance industry must adapt to deal with not just these issues, but the specific pressures it faces, not least in the form of a persistently low rating environment and increasing regulatory requirements.
Into this mix comes a surge in new ways of conducting insurance business, particularly in the form of MGAs, where new start-ups have grown exponentially in recent years.
Asta has always been an evolutionary business adapting to meet the challenges the insurance industry is facing particularly in managing start-up and growing underwriting businesses. As a result we are building our presence in the MGA market, bringing the same focus on delivering the highest standards of quality and skill to the management of MGA start-ups that we have successfully applied to Lloyd’s syndicates.
While we are flexing our model we remain true to our roots and continue to believe that only well run businesses are able to generate the highest returns and security for investors, brokers and policyholders alike.
#BIBA2016 is the natural place for us to be as we are keen to meet would-be entrepreneurial MGA start-ups from all sectors and regions of the UK insurance market.
We look forward to a successful couple of days at #BIBA2016 in Manchester.
